Skills Force Australia Privacy Policy

Information Policy

Skills Force Australia will provide clear, accurate and sufficient information to applicants prior to their enrolments. This will include information about training and assessment and the support services available to them. Applicants will also be made aware of their rights and responsibilities.

Skills Force Australia will provide information to students to enable them to make decisions about the training course, and whether it is right for them. The information, where applicable, will include:

a) Fees, including course fees, administration fees, materials fees, additional support tutorials and any other charges.
b) Payment terms including timing and amount of fees for deposits.
c) Fees for additional services including issuance of replacement certificates, or re-assessment.
d) Refund policy.
e) Course outcomes and pathways.
f) Training and assessment arrangements, including RPL.
g) Information on complaints and appeals.
h) Student enrolment and induction/orientation procedures.
i) Provision for Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assistance and details on any LLN assessment prior to enrolling.
j) Student support, welfare and guidance services,
k) Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) arrangements.
l) Recognition of AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other RTOs.

Course bookings

Course bookings can be via the website directly or via contact to Skills Force Australia (email or phone).

Entry into Skills Force Australia courses is at the discretion of Skills Force Australia. A Skills Force Australia representative will assess student suitability for entry into the course. This is typically assessed at the beginning of the course. Where it has been determined that support is required to meet the requirements of the training it will be advised to the student.

Common selection criteria adopted by Skills Force Australia are:

a) The ability and commitment of the students to complete the short course
b) National Training Package requirements
c) Language, Literacy and Numeracy proficiency to meet the level required in the Training Package 

Student Induction

Induction will occur prior to the commencement of any Skills Force Australia course.

Skills Force Australia will provide information to students to:

a) ensure they understand the information contained in the Student Handbook, including their rights as a student
b) fully understand what support services are available
c) ensure familiarity with the facilities, classes and resources
d) understanding their overall course assessment requirements
e) provide evacuation and emergency plan procedures
f) ensure they know where to access more information, as required.

Support Services

Skills Force Australia determines the support needs of individual learners upon enrolment. To maximise the chance of learners successfully completing their short course training, Skills Force Australia will provide them support as necessary for the individual.

Skills Force Australia will:

a) identify any support individual learners need at enrolment or commencement (whichever is the earliest)
b) provide access to that support throughout their training
c) observe the candidate with others and during training to see where their strengths and challenges lie
d) clearly identify, in the pre-enrolment information, where any additional costs is required in providing support

Support may include providing:

a) Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) support, internally or recommending external provision
b) use a range of assessment activities to achieve the same end
c) Trainer support throughout the training
d) Additional group or one-on-one tutorials (at a fee)
e) Provision for special cultural and religious or ability needs
f) Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
g) Review of payment schedules when requested

If a student is deemed ‘Not Yet Competent’, additional support will be provided to help that student to complete the particular unit and prepare for an additional assessment. This, and any fee arrangements, can be discussed at the time with the student.

Skills Force Australia can assist students, requiring assistance with improvement of reading and/or writing, in sourcing an appropriate external support organisation such as the Reading, Writing Hotline on 1300 655 506.

Course Skill Pre-requisites

A basic foundation of reading and writing skills is required for all of Skills Force Australia‘s nationally accredited courses.These include:

  • Foundation skills: Reading skills to engage with guidelines and procedures and Writing skills to report incidents as appropriate.
