Overview
Provide First Aid & CPR provides participants with essential skills and knowledge to respond effectively to medical emergencies in both workplace and home settings. The training covers a wide range of topics, including first aid techniques, wound care, immobilization, and administering medications. Participants will gain hands-on experience through practical simulations, fostering the confidence to manage critical situations calmly and efficiently. The course emphasizes teamwork, communication, and prioritization to achieve positive outcomes in various emergency scenarios. Upon completion, attendees will be well-prepared to handle diverse medical emergencies, making them valuable assets in personal and professional contexts.
Suitable for
We believe that this qualification is ideally suited for people in workplaces, for career enhancement and members of the public who simply wish to be competent providing First Aid in an emergency.
Remember that employers are legally required to have a specific number of staff members to be qualified First Aiders and Fire Alert also recommends that Fire Wardens receive this training. This qualification is current for at least 3 years however the CPR qualification itself is required to be refreshed every 12 months according to ARC guidelines.
Course Currency
Online Theory
Participants are to read through the online manual and successfully complete an online theory assessment prior to attending the half-day practical session usually held within one week.
A certificate of completion will be provided once you have passed the online theory component. Please bring this along with you to to practical session.
Full Day Practical Course
The nationally accredited practical training session is held over a full a day covering varied topics to enable participants to manage and control emergency situations. Please see the learning outcomes tab for detailed information.
Pre-requisites
- Must have basic English literacy skills
- Support: AMES Australia
Please note that Skills Force Australia’s First Aid courses require participants to have a general physical ability to complete all practical assessments. Therefore, if you feel that your fitness level and health could restrict you from carrying out required physical activities associated with this First Aid training assessments then you may still attend however you will not be eligible for a nationally accredited certificate.
Language Literacy and Numeracy requirement
- RTO’s are required to obtain evidence that you have minimum Level of English language, literacy and numeracy skills to ensure this course is right for you. Participants must complete a short LLN quiz which is automatically sent to Skills Force Australia to validate. If the quiz provides evidence that Participants have this level then they will not be contacted and may continue with theory and practical training.
- Those who do not successfully complete this quiz will be required to access appropriate assistance.

Location
This course is conducted every Tuesday from 7:45 am to 3:00pm at our Training Centre. Skills Force Australia is located in Wangara with free parking, however, there is the option for us to deliver group training at your workplace.
